How
0870 Non-Geographic numbers work...
You
can have an adcall 0870 number connected to your UK land line number (but
not mobile numbers).
When UK callers dial your
adcall 0870, your land line number will ring in the normal way.
UK callers pay at BT's National Rate (see below) to call
you via your adcall 0870number.
Your adcall
0870number does not interfere with
your own number, which will continue to make and receive calls normally.
Presently
0870 UK Non-Geographic phone numbers are available free of charge with no
set up or rental charges. Nor are you charged to receive calls. The exception
is memorable numbers, which have a once-off cost. However,
due to a recent Ofcom decision, 0870
numbers will attract a rental charge with effect from the end of 2007.
Royalties: In any month that all your 0870/0871 numbers together
generate a minimum of 1,000 minutes (500 minutes for 0871), we will pay you a
royalty starting at 1p/min. See royalties chart below.However,
due to a recent Ofcom decision, 0870
numbers will stop paying royalties with effect from the end of 2007.
Connection: 0870 numbers can only be connected to UK 01 and 02 mainland numbers.
These
numbers cannot be connected to numbers outside the UK mainland. (0871 numbers

Call charges: To call 0870 numbers
callers pay at BT's National Rate which is 8p/min daytime, 4p/min evenings and
2p/min at weekends (including VAT). You pay nothing to receive calls. However,
due to a recent Ofcom decision, the cost of calling 0870
numbers will be the same as a local call with effect from the end of 2007.
See who's calling: If you have Calling
Line Identification on your 01 or 02 number it will display the caller's number
unless withheld.
Please note that:
There is no charge
for changing destination numbers.
0870 numbers cannot be connected
to numbers in the Channel Islands or Isle of Man or to 07, 08 or 09 numbers.
Although it should be possible to call 0870 numbers from overseas,
not all overseas phone companies make it possible. Overseas callers should dial
their International dialling code followed by 44870 XXX XXXX.
We
do not offer a "follow-me" service whereby destination numbers can be
changed at will. If you require this feature, please consider a Virtual Switchboard instead.
0870
numbers are intended to be used instead of geographic 01 and 02 numbers.
They cannot be connected to 07 mobile numbers.
